Introduction

初めまして、TIG編集部スタッフの村上です。
簡単に自己紹介させていただきます！
1995年生まれの25歳、常識には疎く、仕事は不真面目よりですが何とかゲームをしつつ生きています。そんな僕ですが、今回記事を書かせていただくことになりました。

I’m Murakami, a staff member of TIG editorial department.
I’d like to introduce myself briefly!
I was born in 1995, and I’m 25 years old. I’m not familiar with common sense, and I’m not very good at my job, but I manage to live while playing games.
That’s me but I’ve started to write an article this time.

TIGのコンセプトとして、「それいいね！」と思うことを日本、世界に発信していく活動をしている中で、僕が「いいね！」と思うことは何だろうか？何を伝えられるだろうか？と考えました。
サッカー、スノボード、読書、映画鑑賞、etc…

The concept of TIG is to send out what we think is “THAT IS GOOD!” to Japan and the world. I considered “What do I think is ‘THAT IS GOOD’? and “What can I share?”
Soccer, Snowboarding, Reading and Watching movies etc…

あ、僕が辛くても苦しくても何年間もやめないでやってきたものがありました。
小さい頃から誰になにを言われてもやめなかった「ゲーム」です。
趣味ともいえるものですが、皆さんに紹介していけたらなと思います。基本的に主観的なものになりますので、よろしくお願いします！

Oh, there is one thing that I have been doing for years without stopping, no matter how hard or painful it is.
It’s a game that I haven’t stopped playing since I was a child, no matter what anyone says.
This is a hobby, but I hope to introduce it to everyone. It’s basically subjective, so please bear with me!

ゲームといえば、今や沢山のジャンルがあります。1人でも楽しめるゲームや、複数人で遊ぶ対戦ゲーム、見ず知らずの人ともゲームをする時代。コロナ禍も相まって、オンライン需要が更に高まりましたね。昔と比べてゲームはケーブル通信からネットを介したオンラインになり友達とは通話しながらプレイするのも当たり前です。
思い出のゲームや、名作のゲームをご紹介したいところではありますが、今回は今も現役でプレイをしているオンラインゲームの文化などをご紹介していきます！

Nowadays, there are many genres of games: games that can be enjoyed by one player, competitive games that can be played by multiple players, and games that can be played with complete strangers. Combined with the Corona disaster, the demand for online games has increased even more. Compared to the past, games have shifted from cable communication to online, and it is common to play games with friends while talking on the internet.
I’d like to introduce you to some of the games that I have memories of, some of the masterpieces, but this time I’m going to introduce you to the culture of online games that I still play today!

オンラインゲームと聞いて、皆さんが思い浮かぶものは何でしょうか？
メイプルストーリー？コールオブデューティー(COD)？
または、任天堂様からリリースされている、Wii、WIIU、Switchのゲーム？
それまた、SONY様からリリースされている、PS3、PS4のゲーム？
おおまかに、ゲームやゲーム機を出させていただきましたが、オンラインゲームとは、主にオンラインによるコンピュータネットワークを利用したゲーム（コンピュータゲーム）。または、ネットワークゲーム、ネットゲーム、ネトゲとも呼ばれるものです！
どのゲームも、ゲーム機でも、ネットを介せばオンラインゲームになります。
こんな多くのゲーム機が世の中にあるにも関わらず、オンラインゲーム人口で一番多いのはパソコンでプレイしている人たちです。オンラインゲームをプレイするにあたってパソコンは本当に優秀で、今ではほとんどのゲームがプレイできるので、ゲームをするときはパソコンをつかうのが本当におすすめです！

When you hear the word “online game”, what comes to your mind?
Maple Story? Call of Duty (COD)?
Or the Wii, WIIU, and Switch games released by Nintendo?
Or the PS3 and PS4 games released by SONY?
I listed games and game devices roughly, but online games are games (computer games) that use computer networks, mainly online. They are also known as network games, net games, and netoge!
Any game, even a game device, can be an online game through the Internet.
Despite the fact that there are so many game devices in the world, the largest population of online game players are those who play on computers. PCs are really good for playing online games, and since most games can be played on them nowadays, it is really recommended to use a computer when playing games!

長々と、説明をしてしまいましたが、本題となるゲーム「FF14」を紹介したいと思います！
FF 14とは、日本を代表するタイトル「ファイナルファンタジー」のオンラインゲームになります。FF14は多くのデータセンターを管理していて全世界からアクセスされプレイされています。
ざっくりと、どのようなゲームかというと「なんでもできるゲーム！」です。
モンスターを倒して、レベルあげをするのもよし、家を建築するのもよし、友達とまったりお話もできる。第二の世界といってもいいです。なんとゲーム内でお金(ギル)を稼ぐため、お仕事もできます..!!(現実の世界ではお仕事をサボってよく怒られています！現実優先！)
その中で、僕がオンラインゲームにおいて一番面白いと思っていることは、多くの人と触れ合えるところです。
現実では大先輩な40代管理職の人、デザイナーとしてフリーランスをしている30代の人、現役の高校生など、多種多様の人たちとオンラインゲームを介せば、対等な関係として友達になれます。僕はそれが一番楽しくワクワクします！

After a long explanation, I’d like to introduce the main game, FF14!
FF 14 is an online game based on one of Japan’s most popular titles, “Final Fantasy”, which is accessed and played by people from all over the world as it manages many data centers.
To put it briefly, what kind of game is this: “A game where you can do anything!
You can kill monsters, level up, build houses, and talk with your friends. It’s like a second world. You can even work in the game to earn money (gil)…! (In the real world, I’m often chastised for skipping work! Reality first!)
One of the things that I find most interesting about online games is the opportunity to interact with many people.
Through online games, I can make friends with a wide variety of people, including managers in their 40s who are senior to me in real life, people in their 30s who are freelancing as designers, and high school students who are still working. That’s the most fun and exciting thing for me!

ゲーム内でのモードを使用して、独自で撮影を行い編集、初めて拝見させて頂いた時はもう・・・感動の一言につきます。
ゲームを愛している人にとって、ものすごく心に刺さるキャッチコピーがあります。

They used the in-game mode, filmed and edited it independently, and when I saw it for the first time, I was just… impressed.
There is a catchphrase that really sticks in the mind of those who love the game.

「現実より大切なわけじゃない　でも、たかがゲームってわけでもない。」

“It’s not more important than reality, but it’s not just a game either.”

オンラインゲームを運営している会社様が、発信しているものも、もちろんたくさんありますが、現ユーザーが集まり一つ形になるものを作り上げるという文化は今後も無くなって欲しくないですね！また、人が時間を使い熱意をもてるコンテンツである「ゲーム」はどの時代でも素敵なものだと思います。

Of course, there are many things that online game companies are sending out, but I hope that this culture of users coming together to create something tangible will never disappear! I also think that games, which are content that people can use their time and enthusiasm for, are wonderful in any age.
