最期の日は録音任務も（任されてはいないが笑）終了し、レコードでも堀りに行こうかと再び街に繰り出す。
On my last day, my recording duties (although not assigned to me lol) were finished, and I went into town again to go digging for records.

こういう世界ではよくあることだが、試聴できるようなプレーヤーはなく、英語表記ではなく完全なアラビア語のラベルを読めもしないのに直感で探る。
As is often the case in this kind of world, there is no player available for audition, and I explore the label, which is not in English but in completely Arabic, by intuition, even though I can’t read it.

例の如く、他にも骨董品として日本でも高く売れそうなものを今写真を見ると複雑な気持ちになるが笑、
そこは限られた時間なのもあり、レコードに集中した。
As usual, I have mixed feelings when I look at the photos of other items that could be sold for a high price as antiques in Japan, but I had a limited time and concentrated on the records.

上記の店の主人は英語も多少喋れたのでレコードの内容に関する説明も聞けたので勘で１０枚ほど購入した。
ちなみに全然悪い勘ではなかったようで興味深い音源だと帰国後確認できた。
The owner of the store spoke a little English, so I was able to listen to his explanation about the contents of the records, and I bought about 10 of them on a hunch.
After returning to Japan, I was able to confirm that it was not a bad intuition at all, and that it was an interesting sound source.

この時期いわゆる『アラブの春』と言われた革命運動の音が各所で鳴り響く。

上記の様にウームクルスームの音が結構デカイ音で鳴り響いたり、『アラブ』感は盛り上がる。

この当時の大統領のモルシは完全に批判の対象になっていた。

そして街頭には若者たちが集まり、決起集会を行っていた。
しかし、同時にその周りにある冷めたムードも感じた。

上記のように明らかに反政府運動には欧米の影が感じられるのだ。

何を言ってるかは全くわからない。
しかし日本よりも若者たちが政治に関心があって、どうにか状況を良くしたいという情熱はヒシヒシと感じた。
I have no idea what they are talking about.
However, I could sense that the young people were more interested in politics than in Japan, and I sensed their passion to somehow improve the situation.

そしてカイロでのアパートのオーナーである、会って３分以内にイルミナTの話まで突入出来たヒシャムさんから誘われていた二人会に。

And then to the two-person meeting I had been invited to by Hisham, the owner of my apartment in Cairo, who was able to plunge into a discussion about Illumina T within three minutes of meeting me.

間違いなく自分よりは裕福なお家（笑）に招かれ、嫁子供が不在だったのもあり、４時間近く語り合った！
彼からは当時話題に上っていた『ムスリム同胞団』とは何なのかを教授された。
そこには明らかにエジプト政府のシステム、果てはアラブ社会の撲滅を画策する組織の影が、、、
それは『アラブの春』という名で、西欧諸国には聞こえがいいが、土地に根付いた文化や社会を大事に想う人にとっては、まさにテロ行為である。
とのことだった。

He invited me to his house, which was undoubtedly wealthier than mine lol, and we talked for nearly four hours, as his wife and children were away!
He gave me a lecture on what the “Muslim Brotherhood” was, which was a hot topic at the time.
He told me that the Muslim Brotherhood was an organization that was clearly a part of the Egyptian government’s system, an organization that was planning to eradicate the Arab society..
It is called the “Arab Spring,” which sounds good to the West, but to those who cherish the culture and society rooted in the land, it is an act of terrorism.

そのお返しとばかりに、自分が調べ上げた日本の天皇、その周りに巣食う財閥の連中とアメリカ、イギリス、イスラエルの関係性の闇について教授した。
In return, I gave him a lecture on the dark side of the relationship between the Japanese emperor, the zaibatsu that nestle around him, and the U.S., Britain, and Israel, which I had researched.

彼自体も奥さんが日本人なのもあり、何度も来日してるので相当興味深く思ってくれた様だ。
どこも御多分に洩れず侵略は続いているということなのだろう。
His wife is Japanese and has been to Japan many times, so he seemed quite interested.
I guess the invasion is continuing everywhere.

そんな話をしてる中、ケーブルテレビからウームクルスームのAL Atlalが！！！
インシャッラー。

先述した様に2011年のセネガル、トルコでの旅以降、イスラム式のお祈りを毎日し、ラマダンも行う様になった。
As mentioned above, since my trip to Senegal and Turkey in 2011, I have been praying Islamic prayers daily and observing Ramadan.

彼も勿論ムスリムで、そのお祈りをする上で額を地面に着けることでそのチャクラ的な部分から地球の、宇宙のエナジーをチャージできる感覚あるよね～、
という会話で盛り上がったり、、
He is of course a Muslim, and when he prays, he puts his forehead on the ground, which gives him a sense of being able to charge the energy of the earth and the universe from his chakra-like body,
We had a great conversation about this,

彼とは歳もほぼ一緒で、この時から１０年位上経つが、いまだに親友感がある。
He and I are about the same age, and although it has been about 10 years since we started working together, we still feel as if we are best friends.

とにかくここで出会った人達は皆ムスリムで、とてもよくしてくれる人ばかりだ。
Anyway, all the people I have met here are Muslim and very hospitable.

とにかく、このエジプトの旅でよりイスラムの素晴らしさを感じた。
Anyway, I felt more Islamic splendor on this trip to Egypt.

下記は本当に仲のよさそうな夫婦で思わず後ろ姿を撮ってしまった。
The following is a couple that seemed to be really close and I couldn’t help but take a picture of their backs.

これが自分が見た現代のイスラム社会の象徴の様な気がする。
I feel like this is the symbol of modern Islamic society as I see it.

そして歴史的にも古代の記憶を残しながらも前進を続けるこのエジプトが本当に好きになった。
飯は美味くないし、ゴミだらけだし、渋滞は酷いが！笑
And I’ve really come to like this Egypt that continues to move forward while retaining memories of its historical antiquity.
Although the food is not good, there is garbage everywhere, and the traffic jams are terrible!lol

惜しくもこの後、亡くなられた、ダーゲル先生とサード先生に改めて感謝とお悔やみを。
Again, thanks and condolences to Dr. Dargel and Dr. Saad, who sadly passed away after this.

故郷を奪われながらも力強く生きるヌビアの人々に幸運を。
Good luck to the people of Nubia, who have been robbed of their homeland but are still going strong.

そしてエジプトにかつて生きた、そして今を生きる全ての人に。
And to all who once lived in Egypt and who live today.

東京出身。15歳からバンドとＤＪの活動を並行して始め、スケートボードを通して知り合ったメンバーで結成されたバンドEvilPowersMeの音源は、結成後すぐにアメリカのイラストレイターPusheadのレーベル等からリリースされる。DJとしてもその革新的でオリジナルなスタイルが一世を風靡し、瞬く間に国内外の巨大なフェスからアンダーグランドなパーティまで活動が展開される。ソロの楽曲制作としても米Grand RoyalからのBuffalo Daughterのリミックスを皮切りに、Boredoms等のリミックス等メジャー、インディー問わず様々なレーベルからリリースされる。2003年にキューバで現地ミュージシャンとレコーディングツアーを敢行したのを皮切りに、その後世界各地で録音を重ね、新たなWorld Musicの指針として、立ち上げたレーベルCROSSPOINTを始動。
2015年から始まった怒濤の９ヶ月連続ヴァイナルリリースは大きな話題になり、その影響でベルリン／イスラエルのレーベルMalka Tutiなどからワールドワイドにリリースされ、DJ TASAKAとのHIGHTIME Inc.、Nitro Microphone UndergroundのMACKA-CHINとPART2STYLEのMaLとのユニットZEN RYDAZ、Minilogue/Son KiteのMarcus HenrikssonとKuniyukiとのユニットMYSTICSなど、そのオリジナルなヴィジョンは、あらゆるジャンルをまたぎ、拡散し続けている。また音楽制作のみならず、映像作品、絵本や画集のプロデュース、野外フェスOoneness Camp”縄文と再生”を企画するなど活動は多岐に渡る。

Born in Tokyo, he started playing in bands and DJing at the same time when he was 15. As a DJ, his innovative and original style and his activities have quickly expanded from huge festivals to underground parties both in Japan and abroad. In 2003, he went on a recording tour with local musicians in Cuba, and since then he has been recording all over the world, and started his own label, Crosspoint, as a new guideline for New World Music.
In music production, he has also produced video works, picture books and art books, and organized the outdoor festival “Jomon and Rebirth” in 2012.
